The New Mexico Center for Therapeutic Riding was the ONLY non-profit organization in New Mexico to receive a small grant from the EQUUS Foundation. The EQUUS Foundation is the only national charity in the United States 100% dedicated to ensuring the welfare of America’s horses and fostering the horse-human bond and a mission to protect America’s horses and strengthen the bond between horses and people.The EQUUS Foundation awards small grants ranging from $500 to $5,000 to charities that undergo the EQUUS Foundation comprehensive and unique verification process and receive the EQUUS Foundation Guardian designation. 

NMCTR plans to use the grant to care for our horses. The monies will assist in the expenses for caring for the horses. These expenses include: feed (hay and grain), supplements, medications, vet expenses, bedding and appropriate equipment. NMCTR prides itself for the astounding care given to the horses and are very grateful for this grant.
