Little Buddies by Tamara Rymer

Tamara Rymer has been a supporter of NMCTR for years and has generously donated her painting, Little Buddies, for the prize of NMCTR’s raffle fundraiser.

Tamara Rymer, who was recently featured in the Southwest Art Magazine as the “Artist to Watch”, has chosen to create a journal or time capsule of what she has seen and experienced. Childhood family stories of cowboys and traders, travelers and outlaws, horses and Native Americans who crisscrossed the ranch owned by her great-grandparents, helped spark the art adventure. The stories continue as she zeros in on her Cheraw and Cherokee ancestry that has brought a continuing dedication to her journal in art. Tamara paints the west….  and further west, from Texas and New Mexico to the Hawaiian Islands. Working in oil and watercolor, Tamara’s works are in private and public collections. “I paint what is current because I want people, years from now, to look back at these paintings and think, ‘Oh, wow, that’s how that looked back then,'” says Rymer.

Little Buddies is an oil on canvas, image size is 18” x 24” with a black frame. The painting is an award winner from the Great Plains Art Museum and depicts two young wild horses located in New Mexico.
